Heliospectra Gets $229,000 Order from European Grower for LED-based LightBar

Heliospectra AB of Gothenburg, Sweden, a maker of LED-based greenhouse cultivation technology, has received an order valued at just over SEK1.8 million (USD 229,000). The large European greenhouse grower who made the order also participated in Heliospectra’s research and development of the new LED grow light, the Heliospectra LightBar. Installation of this first order is expected in December 2015. Heliospectra noted that the order, its largest in Europe, was the first for its new Lightbar V101, which it launched in late August 2015.

Staffan Hillberg, CEO at Heliospectra commented, “We have collaborated with this customer before and they are a leading player in Europe. That they’ve placed an initial larger order is positive. It’s also positive that we now have a strategically important and larger order in the European market.”

The Heliospectra LightBar V101 is a high intensity, fixed spectrum LED grow light. The V101 emits a light with its spectrum optimized for horticulture. Heliospectra points out that its LightBar V101 is unique in its ability to enable both water and air cooling. The V101 comes in two lengths (1235 mm/48 inches and 1828 mm/72 inches).

“This is a confirmation that our new products are also at the forefront of technology and that we are a leading player in the sector even when it comes to lighting technology in Vertical Farming. The European market for Vertical Farming is expected to grow by about 30 percent each year until at least 2020,” said Staffan Hillberg.
