Next-Generation System Offers Superior Optical Stability,
Intuitive Programming and Control
Waltham, Massachusetts USA – Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a global technology leader focused on delivering innovative, customized photonic solutions, introduces its new feature-rich OmniCure® LX500 UV LED Spot Curing System, ideal for medical device and electronics applications.
The OmniCure LX500 system provides the highest irradiance available with superior optical stability utilizing Excelitas’ proprietary new Intelli-Lamp® LED technology. Leveraging years of wide-ranging application experience, this system is ideally designed for use in medical devices such as catheters, cannulas, endoscopes and syringes, as well as electronics such as CCM, smartphones, tablets, micro-speakers, lenses and general purpose curing applications.
With exceptional working performance, the OmniCure LX500 is an intelligent and easy to program UV Curing system. It is equipped with a new 2.4 inch full-color LCD that can be programmed and controlled using a four-way keypad by a programmable logic controller (PLC), or via USB connected directly into a PC. Featuring a multi-purpose SD card, the LX500 allows for multiple controller programming without the use of an Ethernet connection, and provides the ability to record application data and error faults in real time.
Available in two- or four-head controller configurations, the OmniCure LX500 offers maximum flexibility to correspond with the particular application requirements. Incorporating our proprietary Intelli-Lamp LED technology, the LX500 can automatically and continuously provide the highest optical stability through a combination of temperature measurement and LED lifetime data management. With advanced LED technology, the LX500 enables manufacturers to ensure a consistent and repeatable curing process.
The new OmniCure LX500 is the next-generation LED alternative to Excelitas’ OmniCure S2000 UV spot curing lamp system, recognized worldwide for superior process control and consistency with real-time Closed-Loop Feedback technology using an integrated optical UV sensor. The LX500 incorporates all of the S2000’s performance advantages, with the added benefits of LED.
Included with the OmniCure LX500 are the new UV LED MAX heads that deliver exceptional peak irradiance of up to 14 W/cm2 (365nm) and 16 W/cm2 (385nm) using a 3mm focusing lens at a 10mm working distance, with other wavelengths such as 400nm also available. The combination of the LX500 with high power UV LED heads provides fast, even curing of UV adhesives for superior product quality, rapid production, and lower manufacturing costs.
“We developed the new OmniCure LX500 as a next-generation UV LED spot curing system, providing the innovation our customers count on to continue advancing their technologies and manufacturing processes,” said Mike Kay, Director of Product Management , UV Curing at Excelitas. “The ingenuity that has gone into designing the LX500 also makes it an ideal solution for manufacturers transitioning their UV curing processes to LED with consistent, repeatable performance they can trust. We know how important it is for manufacturers of precision products to utilize the most reliable process systems available, and at Excelitas, we have established a history of providing what they need at the cutting edge of science and technology.”
Excelitas Technologies Corp.’s OmniCure LX500 UV LED Spot Curing System will be showcased next at RadTech UV+EB 2016 (booth #713) in Rosemont, IL, May 16-18, 2016. For more information about Excelitas and its products, please contact us or visitwww.excelitas.com.
