Everlight Electronics, a Taiwan-based LED packaging service provider, has nearly completed the construction of a factory in central Taiwan, according to a Digitimes article. The company intends to install equipment at the end of the second quarter of 2016. Everlight says it plans to begin production in the third quarter.
According to Everlight, the plant will primarily produce LED automotive lighting devices and modules for use in headlights, in-car lamps, taillights and other exterior vehicle lamps.
Automakers in the U.S., Europe, and Japan have long-term supply chains. So, Everlight says it is targeting car manufacturers and automotive lamp producers in emerging markets including China, Southeast Asia, India, and South Korea for OEM and after-market orders.
