Everlight Electronics, a Taiwan-based LED packager reported that it filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the US District Court for the Northern District of California, according to Everlight which was cited in a Digitimes article. The lawsuit alleges that US-based LED lighting solution developer Bridgelux of infringed its two US patents, US 6,335,548 and US 7,253,448, concerning basic LED structure.
In July 2015 Kaiser Lighting of China acquired Bridgelux. Epistar says it is a major shareholder of Kaiser Lighting.
The complaint requests that the court ban Bridgelux’s production, sale and exports of LED lighting products that allegedly infringe Everlight patents. The complaint also requests that Bridgelux pays damages.
