Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, reported that the University of Colorado has contracted the company to design, manufacture and install a rectangular centerhung system for the Coors Event Center in Boulder, Colorado USA. The centerhung display will combine four LED video displays totaling almost 700 square feet. Daktronics plans to finish the installation this summer so it can begin entertaining Buffs fans at the Coors Event Center this fall.
The four new centerhung displays will have 6-millimeter line spacing. Two of the four will face the sidelines. This two measure about 11.5 feet high by 20 feet wide. The other two displays forming the centerhung will be baseline-facing and will measure about 8.5 feet high by 14.5 feet wide. The centerhung configuration will also include Four corner logo signs, two upper “Coors Event Center” signs, and two lower “Buffs” signs.
“It has been an honor to work with our friends at CU Boulder to upgrade the technology inside Coors Event Center,” said Eric Cain, Daktronics sales representative. “From the early stages of the project, it became clear that CU Athletics is committed to enhancing the experience for Buff fans in the event center, all while continuing to invest in state-of-the-art facilities for their student athletes.
“These four high-resolution video displays – the same technology we installed at the Pepsi Center – will forever change the visual experience for every seat in the building. Thank you to CU for selecting Daktronics as your USA partner. We look forward to serving you for the lifetime of this system.”
Every Seat in Coors Event Center Will Be Able to See the Displays
Daktronics says that like of its screens, these LED video displays can deliver crisp and clear images to every seat in the arena. Also, variable content zoning allows them to present one large image or to be divided into multiple windows. These windows can show any mixture of live video, instant replays, statistics and scoring, sponsorship messages, as well as animations and graphics.
Daktronics says that like all of its LED video and messaging display technology the centerhung displays offer a long lifetime with consistent, superior performance and low power consumption.
“We are excited to continue to improve upon the fan experience for all of our events at the Coors Events Center,” said Matt Biggers, Chief Marketing Office for the Buffaloes. “These new state-of-the-art video boards will allow our fans to enjoy CU Athletics’ events in a whole new way. We are excited to partner with Daktronics to bring the entertainment value to a whole new level for Buffs fans.”
