Bridgelux, Inc. of Livermore, California USA, has introduced its EB Series platform of surface mount devices (SMDs) mounted on linear printed circuit boards. EB Series linear modules come in standard lengths of one, two, and four feet, as well as custom size configurations. The 80 CRI modules are Zhaga L28W2 and L56W2 compliant and are best for troffer and pendant applications.
According to Bridgelux, they offer easy mounting options and feature reusable poke-in connectors. Additionally, Bridgelux says that the EB Series modules are compatible with a variety of off-the-shelf optics.
“We are aggressively expanding our product portfolio with exciting and robust solutions including the new EB Series,” said Brian Cumpston, Vice President of Product Development. “With EB Series, we leveraged our newly scaled operations and manufacturing capabilities to deliver a product with the same compelling performance and quality for which Bridgelux is known.”
EB Series platform incorporates Bridgelux’s IP-protected technology. The company says that the modules provide excellent indoor lighting for job productivity, workplace safety, and personal well-being. In addition to potentially boosting productivity, improving well-being, and create a welcoming environment for both employees and customers, Bridgelux notes that the modules reduce energy consumption and utility costs.
According to Strategies Unlimited, LED-based commercial troffers are one of the fastest growing market segments with revenues predicted to exceed $2B by 2019*. “We’re very excited to add the new EB Series to our portfolio of products. The office and commercial industries are transforming legacy lighting technology in their troffers to LED lighting, and we believe the EB Series platform will meet this demand with quality lighting for our customers worldwide,” says Aaron Merrill, Vice President of Product Marketing.
The modules boast up to 159 lumens per watt (LPW) and feature 2x overdrive capability. The one ft. (280mm), two ft. (560mm), and four ft. (1120mm) lengths have lumen outputs up to 2270 lm, 4450 lm, and 8900 lm respectively. They come in correlated color temperatures (CCTs) ranging from 3000K (warm white) to 5700K (cool white). The modules are powered by drive currents of 350mA, 700mA, and 700mA with typical forward voltages of 22.1 V, 22.1V, and 44.2 V respectively.
Bridgelux bins the modules using an Energy Star and ANSI compliant 3 SDCM color binning structure.
The modules boast projected lifetime (L80, B50) of over 50,000 hours and Bridgelux backs the EB Series modules with a 5-year limited warranty.
The first EB Series linear modules are now available for purchase.
