STG Aerospace, a maker of aircraft cabin lighting, announced that British charter carrier Titan Airways is has installed STG’s liTeMood® retrofit LED mood lighting system on its Boeing 757 aircraft. During a cabin re-configuration earlier this week, Titan Airways retrofitted the aircraft lighting for of one of its aircraft for commercial service. The airline will modify its sister aircraft later this summer. Titan Airways adds to the increasing number of airlines across Europe, North and South America that have selected liTeMood®, making it the system of choice for updating cabin lighting for narrow-body Boeing fleets.
According to STG Aerospace, liTeMood® is an easy-to-install retrofit LED mood-lighting system designed to improve passenger comfort and reduce maintenance costs. The blue/white bi-colour system creates a calming and fresh cabin ambiance. The company contends that liTeMood® is a simple upgrade requiring no aircraft modifications. The system uses all the existing wiring, mounting points, connectors, and control panel. STG says that system installation typically takes under five hours and has minimal impact to any other cabin work. The FAA and EASA approved, liTeMood® system boasts improved reliability compared to traditional fluorescent lighting systems, reducing ongoing maintenance and operational costs. The system also offers both a 36kg weight reduction and at least a 50% reduction in power consumption, for improved fuel and electrical efficiency.
