LG Innotek of Seoul South Korea, reported the development of the “Nexlide-L” line lighting module for automobiles. The module emits a bright and uniform light from its sharp line of merely 3mm in width.
The company claims that the Nexlide-L features the thinnest width among automotive exterior lamps. The already completed quality and mass production tests enable LG Innotek to fulfill customized designs according to customer orders.
Automotive lighting reveals the identity of a car and produces the car’s first impression at night. Also, newly developed car models often feature new automotive lighting designs. In addition to making a good aesthetic impression, automotive lighting can also indicate a driver’s intention to change direction or show whether the brake is engaged.
LG Innotek employed its proprietary “LED lighting structure design technology” to achieve the ultra-slim line lamp “Nexlide-L”.
“Nexlide-L”, a Flexible Design Component
In addition to enabling straight lines, according to the design concept, “Nexlide-L” can form various shapes also including curves, and waves.
Further design flexibility can come from the ability to customize the brightness of the product according to its application and mounting position. The lightings can be designed in a variety of ways to produce, for example, red light for brake lamps and center, high-mount stop lamp (CHMSL), yellow light for turn signal lamps, side-view mirror lamps, and white light for position lamps.
The module boasts excellent luminous efficacy to produce a bright light of up to 7,500nit(cm/m2). This high brightness level meets the brightness required for brake lamps, therefore, the component can be used for automotive brake lamps.
An LG Innotek official said, “The Nexlide-L is a lighting module that can enhance the design, quality and safety of a vehicle at once.” He added, “Car manufacturers and drivers will be satisfied with the high-quality lighting component.”
