LG Chem of Seoul, South Korea reports that the company introduced a new flexible OLED light panel. The flexible OLED panel measures 406mm by 50mm, which is more than twice the area of the company’s current 200x50mm OLED light panel. LG Chem previously debuted the plastic-based 200x50mm flexible panel and then began offering it at a sample price with an announcement in January 2015.
“Based on the customer feedbacks, that flexibility in design rises with the increase in length of the flexible OLED light panel, we decided to introduce the longer version,” said Park Sung-Soo, vice president of the OLED light business at LG Chem.
The new 406x50mm flexible OLED light panels (P6SD models) are merely 0.41mm thick. They have a projected 20,000 hour lifetime. The new flexible panels boast an efficacy of 50lm/W and have a CRI of 85. The company says that across the panels, the OLEDs demonstrate light uniformity of 70% and above.
