Epistar of Hsinchu, Taiwan, reported that it settled its patent dispute with Adamax, which does business as Newhouse Lighting. In related news, Epistar also announced that Super Trend Lighting (Group) Ltd. has agreed to license Epistar’s LED filament patents.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Epistar will release Adamax for the past sales of its LED filament products under the patents related to the lawsuit. In addition, Adamax will pay ongoing royalties based upon its sales of products that Epistar says use its patents.According to Epistar, the settlement protects its investment in the research and development of advanced LED technologies that are the core of its business.
